NAOMI, 2018

I haven’t found anyone else more beautiful, yes I’ve seen some quite attractive women, but none with this radiant glow, you always find someway to make me shy in your midst, I often find myself stuttering while I speak, and lord knows I don’t stutter, what have you done to me?, I won’t lie... I’ve been praying to find someone like you, praying that God would bless me with not only a friend but a lover, someone I could plan my future with, the mother of my bad a** kids lol, but no seriously the woman who would teach my kids right from wrong, disciplining but never ceasing to remind them that we love them, and that’s what you entail Naomi, that and so much more, melanin of astonishing elegance, Black girl magic in its truest form, yeah you’re who I’ve been praying for, there’s so many reasons but I can’t just tell you everything at once, all in due time my love, but every night I’m on my knees thanking God, cause they say when you know... you know!, and BABE I KNOW!!, oh Naomi thank you... thank you!

Yaa Asentewaa, 2018

And I must say thank you, my dear and loving Yaa Asentewaa, I am forever thankful your presence, and today on your 28th birthday, I’m on my knees thanking God, for not only granting you another year, but for blessing you with another 365 days to be beautiful, encouraging, loving, and humble, you’ve got this way of being selfless and putting others before yourself, I know our kids are gonna be just like that, so on this wonderful day we aren’t just celebrating your birthday, but we are embracing our love, we’ve grown through the moments, I still remember how it took nearly a year to get a lunch date with you, but that was the most rewarding wait of my life, and now many lunch dates later, you’re my heaven and earth, and I don’t want it to stop there, I want to make you my galaxy and beyond, so on this warm spring day, I’m kneeling on one knee, extending my hand to be captured by yours, and I’m putting my heart on the line... be mine Yaa Asantewaa, just me and you... may these flowers forever remind you of today, and this image will an imprint in my mind of my greatest accomplishment, finding true love.

BLACK QUEEN, 2018

You give me a sense of hope that love does exist, I wouldn’t go as far as saying I’m in love with you, but that you entail the characteristics of someone I’d love to LOVE, your passion and appreciation for life is amazing, finding all the beauty it offers, though it tends to give you rough days, I truly admire that, and I won’t deny your beauty, how you don’t require make up to feel flawless, not saying there’s anything wrong with make up, but I love how you don’t feel it’s needed, and I won’t ever forget your style, I knew women could be stylish, but you’ve got this fashion sense I can’t seem to describe, I can never guess what you’re gonna rock, cause you’re always changing it up, I dig that, I really do... and you’re admiration for the black culture, Huey P. Newton would be so proud, Black Queen, created in his image... spreading black unity, not just for February, but for ETERNITY,
Power to the people!

BROTHERS, 2018

Love your brother, you will fight your brother, but never want to kill your brother, you may disagree but always remember to uplift your brother, same mother or not, we are united by something much deeper than blood, the struggle and battle that was fought to get us here is beyond our imagination, and still it’s strength is tested daily, so don’t give those enemies a reason to think we can’t keep winning, and don’t give them a sense of pride that we’re weak, cause lord knows we are the original kings of humanity, the BLACK MAN ain’t just a man, he’s a legacy and trademark forever, so even though we may not all have the same thoughts, let’s have the same heart, wanting to only motivate and inspire your brother, we all need love, don’t fault him for his wrongs, but help him instill the rights, we are all BROTHERS... for eternity.

BLACK BEAUTY, 2018

Your beauty is something I can’t dare describe, I feel if I do attempt, I’d be devaluing your existence a bit, I could do no justice attempting such a task, but I will tell you what it does to me, your beauty makes me stutter, it gives me sweaty palms, and possibly even a low blood pressure, every time you walk into a room, I feel myself slightly becoming light headed, falling into an intoxication, your melanin is a drug I’ve never even known existed, it’s high isn’t dangerous though, it’s a type that brings joy and beauty to life, may you only see the positive and amazing things of this world, and If ever you’re attacked for that beautiful color, ignore them, cause people die to be able to say they are a BLACK QUEEN, so keep embracing that speechless glow, black girl magic in its truest form, & melanin of astonishing elegance.

UNTITLED, 2018

Dance like no one is watching, just take their hand and bring them in close, listen as the instrumental blends in and out, the sweet sounds of Afrobeats, even if the words don't make sense, enjoy its vibe, dancing the night away, their smile illuminates the skies above you, the clouds sing and two step, as the moon plays as if it's the dj, and oh the sun, its hiding, but its back there turning up with you, just keep dancing.
